National Bureau of Statistics informs that, based on the last country estimations, about 184,3 thousand people of the RM population lives with some form of disability, of whom 14 thousand are children aged 0-17 years. This is higher than the previous five years with 3,8% per hole, while a decrease of 7,9% is registered in the number of children situation. People with disabilities represent 5,2% of total population and the children with disabilities - 2% of the total number of children in Moldova. On average, from 10 thousand of inhabitants there are 518 people with disabilities, while for 10 thousand of children there are 199 children that meet significant difficulties in functioning. Almost every seventh person with disability falls into the category of severe disability.
