National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-September 2018 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 13,4 mio. tonnes of goods, with 9,4% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The turnover of goods summed up 3461,5 mio. tonne-km, with 4,7% more than in the corresponding period 2017.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, at the beginning of the year 2018, in the Republic of Moldova were 629,6 thousand persons aged 60 years and over, representing 17,7% of the total resident population of the country. About 60% of the total number of elderly people are women and 56,6% live in rural areas. Every third person is aged between 60-64 years and 13,2% are people who are more than 80 years old.
