National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-September 2024 the number of visitors, participants in tourism organized by tourism agencies and tour operators, constituted 451,3 thousand persons (with 10,3% more than in January-September 2023), of which:

• inbound tourism (receiving foreign citizens in the country) registered 51,1 thousand people (+53.8% compared to January-September 2023);

• outbound tourism (travel of residents of the Republic of Moldova abroad) - 335,6 thousand persons (+10,0%);

• domestic tourism (travel of residents of the Republic of Moldova within the country for tourism purposes) – 64,7 thousand persons (-8.9%).

In the analyzed period, the outbound tourism held the largest share – 74,4% in the total tourism activities, and the inbound and domestic tourism, respectively 11,3% and 14,3%.
