Activity of institutions of secondary vocational and
secondary specialized education in 2011/12 school year

National Bureau of Statistics informs that as a result of the optimization of secondary vocational institutions network, in the 2011/12 school year, the number of institutions has decreased with 5 units compared to previous year, and constituted 70 units (including 2 private institutions). Thus, the secondary vocational institutions network comprises 2 vocational lyceums, 47 vocational schools and 21 schools of trade (including 6 schools under the penitentiaries).

At the beginning of 2011/12 school year, 20.3 thou. pupils were studying in secondary vocational insitutions, which is less with 5.1% compared to previous school year.

In the 2011/12 school year 48 secondary specialized institutions (colleges) were operating, including 42 public and 6 non-public colleges. The number of students amounted to 31,4 thou., registering a small decrease compared to the previous year (2.5%).
