The National Bureau of Statistics informs at the beginning of 2024/25 study year:

• were active 1185 institutions of primary and general secondary education, inclusive: 88 primary schools, 752 gymnasiums, 337 lyceums, 6 schools for children with mental or physical handicap and 2 evening schools;

• the number of pupils in primary and general secondary education amounted to 335.1 thousand persons, of which 334.1 thousand persons study in day schools and 1.0 thousand persons in evening schools;

• the number graduates of gymnasiums were 29,9 thousand persons, and graduates of lyceums was 11,9 thousand persons, of which 10,8 thousand persons received a bachelor’s degree;

• the number of management and pedagogical staff amounted to 25,8 thousand persons.
