The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the Labour Force Survey (LFS), in the first quarter of 2023 the labour force (active population aged 15 years and over) of the Republic of Moldova, which includes the employed population and the unemployed, was 916,1 thousand persons, increasing with 7,3% compared to the first quarter of 2022 (854,2 thousand).

The employed population aged 15 years and over was 865,3 thousand, up from 828,5 thousand in the first quarter of 2022. 

Unemployment rate (share of ILO unemployment in the labour force) at the country level recorded a value of 5,5%, higher than the level of the first quarter of 2022 (3,0%).
