The National Bureau of Statistics reports that in January-June 2025, public transport companies transported 164.3 million passengers, 16.2% more than in the same period last year. This evolution was due to the increase in the number of passengers transported by air (+34.0%), trolleybus (+22.5%), river (+7.1%) and road transport (+5.9%). At the same time, the number of passengers carried by rail transport decreased by 41.8% during the analyzed period. Passenger turnover increased by 17.5% and amounted to 3309.5 million passenger-km.

In January-June 2025, railway, road, river and air transport enterprises transported 8.4 million tons of cargo, which is 4.9% lower than in January-June 2024. During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by river transport (+8.0%) increased. At the same time, the volume of cargo transported by air (-36.1%), rail (-22.7%) and road transport (-1.9%) decreased. Cargo turnover of transport enterprises amounted to 2457.6 million ton-km, which is 10.5% less than in the same period last year.
