On 21st February this year, a joint meeting between the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and United Nations agencies in the Republic of Moldova was held to discuss the perspectives of supporting the NBS in the process of developing of the National Statistical System.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2022 retail trade turnover decreased by 1,8% (in comparable prices) compared to 2021. In 2022 turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) in current prices increased by 25,9% compared to 2021.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2022 compared to the previous year, industrial production (gross series) decreased by 5,1%. The decrease in production in 2022 compared to the previous year was generated by decreases in production in the extractive industry (-4,9%), in the manufacturing industry (-4,5%) and in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (-8,4%).
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2022, exports of goods amounted to 4335,1 million US dollars, with 37,9% more than in 2021. In 2022 imports of goods amounted to 9219,1 million US dollars, 28,5% more than in 2021.

Imports of goods in November 2022 amounted 859,1 millions US dollars, with 14,4% more than in the previous month and with 22,5% more compared to November 2021.

The Statistical yearbook "Chisinau in figures" is the most complete publication, which comprises statistical data regarding the demographic, social and economic situation of the municipality. The yearbook is structured in 15 chapters, containing information from various fields: general data, population, labour force, population incomes and expenditures, education, culture and sport, health protection and social protection, dwellings and public utilities, environment, justice.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2021 the number of reporting enterprises was 52,5 thousand enterprises, of which 38,3 thousand active enterprises or about 72,9% of the total number of reporting enterprises. During 2021, 5,3 thousand enterprises were created and 5,5 thousand enterprises were liquidated.
Publication is developed based on the results of structural business survey and presents the main indicators of business activity in the Republic of Moldova, including by types of activity, forms of ownership, size classes and regional aspect.
