National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2023: there were also 21 doctoral schools (at the level of 2022); the number of doctoral students amounted to 1.5 thousand people, decreasing by 0.1 thousand people (or 6.1%) compared to the previous year; 10 higher education institutions had postdoctoral programmes (as of 2022).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that producer prices for agricultural products in January-March 2024 compared to the same period of 2023 decreased by 20.4%, inclusive: prices of crop products decreased on average by 26.5%; prices of animal products decreased on average by 0.6%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, the total agricultural production in households of all categories increased by 11,6% (in comparable prices). At the same time: livestock production increased by 11,7%; crop production increased by 7,8%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in March 2024 producer prices in industry: decreased by 0.7% compared to February 2024; decreased by 1.6% since the beginning of the current year and by 3.8% compared to March 2023.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, exports of goods in February 2024 registered a value of 327.2 millions US dollars, with 19.4% more than in January 2024 and with 8.1% less than in February 2023. Imports of goods in February 2024 amounted 751.9  millions US dollars, with 20.7% more than in the previous month and 0.1% less than in February 2023.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the survey ,,Labour Force Survey (LFS), in 2023": the labour force (active population aged 15 years and over) was 929.5 thousand persons, which is 4.4% more than in 2022; the employed population aged 15 and over was 886.9 thousand persons, up by 2.9% compared to 2022; the unemployment rate for the country as a whole was 4.6%, increasing by 1.5 percentage points compared to the level of the 2022 (3.1%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, based on the Household Budget Survey (HBS), in 2023 the average per capita monthly disposable income of the population amounted to 4915,6 lei, which is 15.6% higher than the previous year (Table 1 in Annex). In real terms (adjusted for the average annual consumer price index) the population incomes increased by 1,9%.The average monthly consumption expenditures of the population, in 2023, amounted to 4248.4 lei on average per person, which is 14.5% higher compared to the previous year (Table 4 in the Annex). In real terms (adjusted for the average annual consumer price index), the population spent on average 0.9% more compared to 2022.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that insurance companies in 2023 compared to the previous year: received accrued gross premiums by 18.8% more; paid out insurance indemnities and compensations by 6.8% more.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the ,,Labor Force Survey” (LFS), in the fourth of 2023, young people aged between 15-34 years were represented by the following categories of people: young people neither in employment nor in education and training (NEET), the proportion of which was 28.1%, decreasing by 0.6 percentage points compared to the level of the fourth quarter of 2022 (28.7%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the Labour Force Survey (LFS), in the fourth quarter of 2023:labour underutilisation rate was 9.7%, increasing by 0.9 percentage points than in the corresponding quarter of 2022; the ILO unemployment rate was 4.9%, increasing by 0.3 percentage points than in the fourth quarter of 2022; the combined rate of underemployment and unemployment was 7.3%, increasing by 0.2 percentage points  compared to the fourth quarter of 2022; the combined rate of unemployment and potential labour force rate at country level was 7.4%, increasing by 1.1 percentage points compared to fourth quarter 2022.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2023 compared to 2022 in tourist accommodation establishments with accommodation function there were increases both in the number of tourists accommodated and in tourist overnight stays with 17.2% and 5.1% respectively.
