As of January 1, 2025, the number of children aged 0–17 in the Republic of Moldova accounted for 553.0 thousand1, representing 23.2% of the usual resident population. The number of live births in 2025 was 22.1 thousand, marking a decrease of 6.6% compared to 2024.
