In the spotlight

On September 24, 2026, the High-Level Conference titled „Harnessing geospatial information for enhanced statistical production and dissemination to support EU integration” took place in Chisinau. The event was organized by the National Bureau of Statistics with the support of Eurostat.

Ms Mariana Kotzeva, Director-General of Eurostat, visits the Republic of Moldova on 23-24 September 2026. The visit will focus on strengthening cooperation between Eurostat and the National Bureau of Statistics, supporting the alignment of Moldova's National Statistical System with European Union standards, and advancing statistical modernisation in the context of the country's EU accession negotiations.

On September 22–23, 2026, the Meeting of the Policy Group on Statistical Cooperation took place in Chisinau, organized by the Statistical Office of the European Union in collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova.

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that industrial production (gross series): In July 2026 compared to July 2025 increased by 7,1%; In January-July 2026 (cumulative from the beginning of the current year), compared to January-July 2025, it increased by 7,7%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in August 2026 producer prices in industry: increased with 0,1% compared to July this year; increased with 0,7% since the beginning of the current year; increased with 0,2% compared to August 2025.

Exports of goods in July 2026 amounted to EUR 319,4 million, increasing by 16,6% compared to June 2026 and by 7,7% compared to July 2025.
