On the occasion of Europe Day, the day of peace and unity in Europe, celebrated annually on May 9, the National Bureau of Statistics presents the statistical data "Republic of Moldova (RM) versus European Union (EU-27)".
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2025, the number of detected contraventions amounted to 947.6 thousand, increasing by 7.8% compared to 2024. The largest number of contraventions was detected by the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (including its subordinate administrative authorities)3 — 902.9 thousand contraventions or 95.3% of their total number.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that producer prices for agricultural products in January-March 2026 compared to the same period in 2025 decreased by 4.7%, including: prices for plant products decreased on average by 9.1%; prices for animal products increased on average by 4.4%.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2025: the area of green spaces in urban localities amounted to 6.7 thousand hectares, with the municipality of Chișinău holding the largest share of green spaces — approximately 65.8%; the length of illuminated urban streets amounted to 3.5 thousand km, the lighting coverage rate at the national level being 83.0%.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2026 compared to the corresponding period of 2025, overall agricultural production in households of all categories increased by 8.5% (in comparable prices) as a result of an increase in livestock production by 8.8%, the share of which in the total volume of agricultural production constituted 98.3%.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2025, compared to the previous year, in the entities that carried out research and development activity: at the end of the year, 3.3 thousand employees were working in research and development, by 1.1% less than in 2024 year; expenditures for research and development activity amounted to 825.6 million lei, or 126.5 million lei (or 18.1%) more compared to 2024, recording 0.23% of the Gross Domestic Product
